Woven in Japan with gold metallic threads, this Obi retains its original securing threads (red and white) and has not been opened for use. Laid the length of a dining table or along a sideboard, where the light catches the brocade differently by the hour.

At approximately 440cm/173in, it's sized for 14-seat dining tables, giving a full, elegant drop at each end.

The folding fans, pine tree, chrysanthemum, iris and willow tree on this Obi is centuries-old motif in Japanese design. Prosperity, steadfastness, longevity, strength and adaptability, respectively.

As each Obi is uniquely patterned, no two runners are ever quite the same. This exact piece won't be repeated.

  • Decorative front (with apx. 100cm of blank space), plain backing
  • The Obi features a plain, unpatterned section characteristic of its Fukuro Obi construction. As the Obi cannot be opened without disturbing the original securing threads, the condition of the interior cannot be confirmed.

  • Made in Japan, hand-finished in the UK
Care
  • Hang to rest. Steam gently on a low silk setting with a cloth buffer to remove creases
  • Do not machine wash, soak or scrub, no tumble drying
