The Imperial Quilt
Woven in Japan with gold metallic thread, this silk Obi has been up-cycled into a table runner for your home. Laid the length of a dining table or along a sideboard, where the light catches the brocade differently by the hour.
At 232cm/91in, it's sized for 6-seat dining tables, giving a full, elegant drop at each end.
The ocean waves, diamond patterns (Hishimon), tortoise shell (Kikko) and cherry blossom on this Obi are centuries-old motifs in Japanese design - good fortune, prosperity, longevity and renewal, respectively.
As each Obi is uniquely patterned, no two runners are ever quite the same. This exact piece won't be repeated.
