Woven in Japan with gold metallic thread, this cushion began life as a vintage silk Obi - the ceremonial sash worn with a Kimono.

It's been carefully rebuilt into a piece your home can live with, where the light catches the brocade differently by the hour.

The motifs are maple leaf, bamboo, chrysanthemum and butterfly - for centuries it has stood for change, vitality, longevity and transformation respectively. 

This is a one-of-a-kind piece. Once it's gone, this exact pattern won't be repeated.

What does the motif mean?

Maple Leaf 紅葉

Representing the turn of autumn, the maple leaf is a symbol of change, transition, and quiet elegance as the seasons shift.
Alongside cherry blossom, it's one of the two great seasonal motifs in Japanese design, marking the beauty found in impermanence.
